Except for Amine and Kimmy, the young couple of neighbors she meets regularly, visitors are rare in Constance Brunel's antique store. Loneliness is also her life. This work recounts the final moments of the Patriotic Conflict of 1837–1838 through the eyes of Charles and Guillaume Beauchamp, two brothers united by blood, loyalty, and the ideal of freedom.
